Guidelines for Research Paper

Pada hari Khamis lalu aku berkesempatan ke satu kursus penyelidikan yang dianjuran oleh Unit Inovasi dan Penyelidikan POLISAS, so antara dapatan yang diperolehi spt dibawah, bolehla dikongsi kepada yang berminat nak sambung belajar ke, buat master ke, phd ke.... Ni adalah guidelines utk buat Research Paper.

 

1) Title

- Keep it KISS (Keep It Simple & Sweet)

-maximum -16-20 words

-centered (usually)

2) Author/s

- Full name, institution / affiliation, email adress.

3) Abstract

-Background (WHAT?)

-Purpose/Problem Statement (WHY?)

-Method (HOW?)

- Results(What was the answer & discuss on)

-Implication / Conclusion (SO WHAT?)

4) Introduction

- Background to research project.

-WHAT? - Problem Statement

-WHY? - Aim, Significance

-HOW? - How your research will contribute....

5) Literature Review

- Limit to related 1.

- Current (unless for well-known & well-established theories)

-Consistent format.

6) Methodology

- Clear but brief
- May insert flowchart if necessary.

-Look at the format in journals targeted for publication.

7) Results

- Clear but brief

- May insert graph, figure, table but not too many.

-2-3 main or interesting findings that answered the aims / objectives of study.

8) Conclusion

- Clear but brief

9) References

- Not a bibliography

- Follow format specified. eg. APA 6th edition, Harvard etc but consistent

- Up-to-date

- As a guide, not more than 15 citations

10) Format

- Meet the format specified

- Within the word count/ page limit
